S hose can be tricky what I had to do was mark on CCV where it can be pushed in and where it locks. S Hose: ( this connects is the twist and lock hose all the other hoses Clip on) On my 2003 525i I tried to put the cold weather CCV and even shaved some of the insulation, no luck getting in the tight spot with S hose. It is mostly difficult because the old hoses are very very hard to pull off they clips break off and it made the job a huge challenge for me. I used crazy glue to put pack the F connector temporary.

I went back and adjusted the throttle body boot clamp and seem to now be stable. I started it up and the throttle was not responding that well they are was a delay.

This CCV job was out of my comfort zone and first time taking apart my beamer. Thank you Steve and Jason for your posts. It goes away completely when the car is warmed up.

I am actually letting off the gas in the vidl, the sound becomes present either accelerating or not. So check the pulleys and tensioner first, then the DISA (or vice-versa).Pulleys and tensioners have been replaced, will check the DISA. The "chirp" was faint, but it was there - I had no helper, so what I did was: with the car idling and fidling with a stethoscope. The flapper started to go South, so I just changed the unit. I had a O-ring at the ready in case it was sucking air) thinking it might let air pass by. The DISA started to have a slight "chirp" too - that's why I pulled it to examine it (I had no intention to change it. I did a total cooling overhaul AND also changed the DISA valve - both in the same time. As soon as I left the foot off the gas pedal, the whistle was gone.ĭuring summer only in the real cool mornings it was doing that but more faint. It was noticed only when I had the engine cold to barely warmed up and when the rpm went about 2000-2500. Any other ideas on this whistle centrally located as mentioned? Sounds like a tea kettle.2200 RPM noise maybe a 530i Vanos bearings relatedīuzzing/Rattling Noise at 2200 RPM under load Will try to latex glove finger on the dipstick first before diving into this.
#Airpass ccv install
Looking at these pics of pulling the intake reminds me of the supercharger install of my 330. Will need to check this out in the AM with car cold and another person holding the tach at 2200RPM's. It sounds like it's coming from the hose connection at the valve cover. I am starting to think this whistle may be ccv related. This fall I replaced all the pulleys/waterpump/ belt thinking this was the area of concern but it obviously wasn't. Seems that when the temps drop below 50F it's present. It does not store any personal data.Great thread, read it from page 1 tonight.įor the past two winters, I get a whistle on startup in the morning/after work at 2200RPM's.
